CONSTRUCTION TIME: 1 week
DEBUT: Phoenix Comic Con 2013
Status: Retired
Thoughts: My friends wanted to do a Gurren Lagann group. I was kind of skeptical after one said ‘you could be Yoko!’ since she wears a bikini but then they showed me the S.T.A.R.S. video and I immediately wanted to do her flight attendant outfit! It looked really cute but at the same time sexy. I hadn’t done a lot of revealing costumes since Kriem so I decided to give it a go. It ended up being one of my favorite costumes at the time!
It took me longer to do this costume because I was constantly working. I finally started using patterns again and lined the inside of the skirt and jacket. The V on the skirt has interfacing inside to make it sturdier and remain straight while being worn. The radio was made from craft foam, a phone cord that was being thrown out from work and a 10$ mic off eBay. I would later buy a $7 radio set at Goodwill to revamp the mic and radio set to make it look a bit more realistic. The fabric was also pulled from a local fabric store in Phoenix. The cap was based off my Nyotalia!Germany cap which is a military-style Garrison cap.
If I were to remake the costume, the jacket and skirt would be made out of a twill or stretchy sturdy type of fabric.

There are no tutorial/material or patterns for this as it had been made with what I had. There is also no write up as this was really a "MAKE IT WITH WHATEVER YOU CAN FIND!!" project.

Breakdown: For this, I photobashed a photo of myself (where I liked the portions or how my face looked) then edited it to look more natural. Like adding wisps of hair that I had to edit out during editing. It became a simple plane, thrown into 3D space and with the help of another model, adjusted to size.
Photoshop, Daz3d - Based off a buuunchhh of photos of flight attendants who I guess...sometimes take pictures like this?! idk
This CB radio (?) was maybe $5 at Goodwill back then. It'll probably now go for $100 with how insane thrifting is.
For some reason, I wanted to add a lot of tactile detail in this cosplay since it was so... "bare" of detail to me. The radio prop proved to be my absolute favorite for a long time. It was so much fun to use a real radio mic as part of the cosplay!
